Super Mist Aeroponics System [Garden #3]

Here are some images of my "Super Mist Aeroponics System". I will continue to post more images throughout the growth of these tomato plants; probably a couple times per week.

Waterfall Drip System [Garden #2]

Here are some images "Thai Dragon Chile Peppers" growing in my "Waterfall Drip System". These plants never reached full maturity, because they out grew their grow space. Eventually they grew into the light and got so heavy, the flimsy plastic containers collapsed into themselves.

This garden looked great in the start, but turned out to be a disaster. Overall, I think that it was a good design though. The plants just needed a little more room and stronger containers.

After the garden's collapse, I took a cutting from one of the plants and stuck it in a glass of water. Being lazy, I let the cutting sit in the glass for a couple of weeks and noticed that it still looked healthy. I added some fertilizer to the cup and hooked the air pump up to the glass. The cutting grew roots, new foliage, flowers and I even got two dozen chiles!

Hard Work Pays Off [Garden #1]

Here’s what it looked like after I got it together. The hardest part was splitting the tubing. I’m not even going to try to explain what I went through to do that. It took me quite a while, but I finally got it to be leak free, drip evenly, and not spray everywhere like a super-soaker.
Here’s a full view of the Ebb & Flow system and the Top Feed System working side by side. The light is so bright you can barely even see the tray!

Hard at Work [Garden #1]

Here I am installing the plumbing into my old sour cream containers that I got from work. Man, that really sucked.
If you’re wondering why they don’t look like sour cream containers, I got some special spray paint designed for plastics. I was very careful not to get any paint on the inside. I didn’t want to risk poisoning the plants or myself.

I decided to paint them black to make sure the roots weren’t getting exposed to the light. Also dark colored containers prevent algae from building up and stealing nutrients.
